About SmallGymHQ

SmallGymHQ helps people living in apartments and small homes figure out which home gym equipment is actually worth buying, without the guesswork, wasted floor space, or noise complaints from downstairs.

Why we exist

Most fitness equipment advice is written for people with a garage or a spare room. If you’re working with a corner of your living room, a balcony, or a small nook next to your bed, the “best of” lists you find online rarely account for your actual constraints: footprint, weight, noise, and whether it folds away when guests come over. That’s the gap we’re filling.

What we cover

Compact power racks and squat stands, adjustable dumbbells, folding benches, and other strength-training equipment sized for small spaces, plus the practical questions that come with buying for a shared or rented space: floor protection, noise level, and how much room you actually need to use the equipment safely.

How we research

Every recommendation on this site is built from publicly available manufacturer specifications, verified pricing, and independent customer reviews, cross-checked across multiple sources before we recommend anything. Where we’ve personally tested a product, we mark it “Hands-on tested.” Everything else is marked “Research-based recommendation” and reflects our analysis of specifications, reviews, and available data rather than in-person testing. We do not fabricate testing results, specifications, or user experiences.

How we make money

SmallGymHQ is reader-supported. When you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a commission from the retailer, at no additional cost to you. This never affects which products we recommend or how we rank them. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
